About The Barn
Ten years in the making
We have spent ten years at East Salmons Well, developing the property with care and attention to detail alongside our own home close by. What began as a rustic stone barn is now a luxury holiday let we are genuinely proud of, and welcoming guests to this corner of Northumberland is a pleasure that has never worn off.
Inside the barn
You enter at ground level into an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, where floor to ceiling glass frames the countryside views and double sliding doors open onto the garden. Bedroom one is on the ground floor, its double bed facing floor to ceiling windows that look out over the garden and the green rolling hills beyond, with an en-suite waterfall shower room. Bedroom two runs the length of the barn on the first floor, with its own ensuite waterfall shower room and, at the heart of the room, a roll top bath set in front of the west facing window, from which you can soak up the views as the sun goes down.
Bathrobes and hairdryers are provided in both bedrooms, with cruelty free ALTER/NATIVE by SUMA body products in the bathrooms. All towels and bedding are included, there are smart TVs in the living area and both bedrooms, wifi throughout, a washing machine and dishwasher, and a stainless steel double oven for anyone who likes to cook properly on holiday. A welcome pack is waiting when you arrive.
The garden, the pond and the ducks
Outside, guests have exclusive use of a substantial lawned south facing garden and two patios to the front of the barn, one catching the morning sun and one the evening. There is patio furniture for lazy afternoons and a barbecue for warm summer evenings. Our pond is home to a family of Indian Runner ducks and attracts swallows, particularly in the early evening, and after dark the garden becomes the best seat in the house for stargazing under Northumberland's famously dark skies.
